Think about pine cones, flower blossom whorls, and seashells.

It’s a pleasing pattern to the eye, and when used in the visual arts, it adds more interest than a simple symmetrical pattern would.

Here is some of my latest work. I used Fibonacci numbers as a guide for designing the proportions of the long stripes on the shawl. I also used the sequence as a guide when I changed colors.

There are so many possibilities with this number sequence, I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. Where’s the Fibonacci in your world?
