Remember those t-shirt loops? I finally made a rug for the guest room out of them, and it was mostly fun.
I beat each pick twice, pressing hard with the reed, and every six or eight rows, I stopped and packed the whole thing in tighter with a fork. They actually make a tool for that (a rug beater!), but I didn’t spring for one, since who knows if and when I’ll do this again. The fork works, but I had to rest my hands a lot, so the whole project went slower than usual.
The bobbins were wound by hand while watching TV, and luckily I had help. That’s Lucky (first half of LuckyXena – I’ll introduce you to the late, great Xena another time).
And here is the finished rug, at home next to the guest bed. I think it works. Mission accomplished.
Fork Yeah!
