My theme this year is New in 2022. I’m trying to jump out of the inevitable ruts of living and creating. I’m on the lookout for new things to try, new places to go, and new ways to do old things.
Here are a few of my first dips into the pool.

I tried some double-width towels a few years ago and they turned out … meh. I’ve learned a few things since then, and am happy to report that this blanket turned out just the way I’d hoped—soft and drapey, and just the thing I reach for on a chilly evening.

I bought a wave shuttle a year or so ago and finally busted it out and had a great time playing with it. The wavy scarf (left) took a while to weave, but I am so excited about using some of the fun, textured yarn that I learned how to spin from Emily Wohlscheid of Bricolage Studios over Zoom. See how the beehives kind of pop out in the blue section of the scarf on the right? Fun.

Finally, I wound the longest-ever (for me) warp for some towels, going on the loom this afternoon. It was a slow process on the warping mill because everything was so close together, but I still did it in an afternoon. I can’t wait to get started on these towels!
Everyone should have a gorgeous drapey blanket! (Okay, so I originally wrote “blankie.” but talk about getting wrapped up in love.)
